Iftar event in Hamburg

"During the last two years, more than a million refugees have immigrated to Germany, majority of which are Muslims who observe the holy fasting month of Ramadan," said Hujjat al-Islam Ramezani.

Hawzah News Agency (Hamburg, Germany) – An Iftar event was held in Hamburg’s Vahdat mosque in which Friday Prayer Imams in Germany from different nationalities and sects participated.

 

At the beginning of the event, Sheikh Zulkhayrat Feizullahi, a German scholar from Hamburg, delivered a speech highlighting the significant role of Prayer Imams in non-Muslim countries saying, "Among the most important duties of Prayer Imams who live in non-Muslim countries is to promote genuine Islam and its teachings within those societies."

 

 Another keynote speaker of the event was Hujjat al-Islam Ramezani, head of Hamburg’s Muslim Council. He elaborated on the importance of holy fasting month of Ramadan and pointed out the numerous individual and social benefits of this month; “Fasting during Ramadan bears great results in terms of personal and spiritual developments for mankind, fasting helps Muslims improve qualities such as patience, sincerity in actions, resistance as well as increase peace of mind and happiness in life."

 

"During the last two years, more than a million refugees have immigrated to Germany and 90 percent of them are Muslims who observe the holy fasting month of Ramadan, therefore, we must welcome them in mosques and provide them with help."
